“Jaded Lover Shady Drifter” Eric Bachmann

Eric Bachmann (Archers of Loaf, Crooked Fingers) is about to embark on a run of shows with Jo Jameson on upright bass, Jeremy Wheatley on percussion, and Mckendrick Bearden on guitar which begins Thursday in his adopted home state of Georgia. Along with the news, check out his new self-directed music video for No Recover’s opening number, “Jaded Lover, Shady Drifter.” The track is off Eric Bachmann’s current release Carolina, available via Merge Records.

I shot this video while driving through Western Canada during my last tour, and edited it late at night in cheap hotels, campgrounds, and shady Walmart parking lots. Always in the back of a goddamn van. Get in the goddamn van, Rock n Roll Man! Get in the goddamn van!”

Carolina was recorded in Asheville, NC, and mixed in Taiwan by Athens, GA, expat engineer Andy Baker, Eric Bachmann features musicians including Jeremy Wheatley, Matthew Nelson, Jon Rauhouse, Tracey Wolf, Samara Waller, Wade Rittenberry, and Liz Durrett, who wrote the track “Carolina.” “My wandering lifestyle has presented only one nugget of clarity in my life: that places do not offer a sense of home for me. People do,” says Bachmann of the ideas that guide him in this new era of his career.
