Dub Thompson Share “No Time” Video

Dub Thompson Share the video for their single "No Time," their LP 9 Songs which comes out on June 10 on Dead Oceans, they start their tour 6/29 in Phoenix

Last week, new Dead Oceans signing, Dub Thompson, released “No Time,” the second single off their debut album, 9 SongsToday, the duo led by 19 year olds Matt Pulos and Evan Laffer have revealed “No Time”‘s visual counterpart via the Vinyl Williams-directed video. The video plays off Matt and Evan’s initial idea of a “sexy game of cosmic twister.” In describing the video, Vinyl Williams says:

“I created a narrative inspired by the wheel of fortune tarot card, using that as the twister dial which chooses the color that the inter-dimensional beings stretch towards.  And instead of having a flat twister surface, I made the circles spheres instead, with little inhabited worlds inside of them that correspond to their tone. The narrative became heavily skewed through the process of degradation. This allowed for unexpected results, by removing my ego from the equation, and letting the imperfect technology compose for me.”

Dub Thompson will embark on their first North American tour this summer. The initial three weeks are co-headline dates with Ought. For a taste of the moody and fun post-punk swagger Dub Thompson conjure in a live setting, check out the “Dograces” video above.
