Known in musical circles as the touring multi-instrumentalist for Of Montreal, Caribou and Yeasayer, Ahmed Gallab is branching out on his own with Mars. The album is dense with deep, polyrhythmic grooves that refer as much to early 70’s underground soul as it does Ahmed’s home country Sudan.
