Death Lens, have not slowed down since their announcement of their signing to Epitaph Records, and today share “Limousine.” lyrically the rejects societal expectations perpetuated through the media and confronts the lack of attainable representation for the underdog. Set to the pulse of a heartbeat, the song’s minimalistic slow build gives way to heavier sonics, culminating in an anarchic wall of sound that transitions to a slowed heartbeat that eventually flatlines. The track is paired with music video directed by Kaylinn Clotfelter.

The band explains, “Limousine” pushes the narrative of how lessons learned through media, socials and television never benefit the underdogs. Instead, it gives us examples of life expectations we should follow and rules we need to agree with to reach their level of high standards. It’s our angry anthem and our light at the end of the tunnel for those looking to find motivation and joy in what they have and what we can genuinely attain without feeling pushed to change, to not be ourselves.”

Comprised of Bryan Torres (vocals), Matt Silva (guitar), Jhon Reyes (guitar, backing vocals), Eduardo Contreras (bass), and Tony Rangel (drums), the fivesome has two albums under their belts, a split EP with The Frights, and has opened for Militarie Gun, Together Pangea, Cherry Glazerr, Enjoy, Bass Drum Of Death and many more.

On their 2022 album ‘No Luck’, Death Lens were inspired by the turmoil and culmination of racial injustice of 2020. They set out to make an honest album that encapsulates the anxieties and hardships of life, while ultimately conveying a positive message that there is light at the end of the tunnel. As living proof of this themselves, the band grew up as minorities in a place with constant harassment by police and heavy gang violence. Their paths could have gone other ways, but they’ve chosen positivity and strive to be a light for their communities, their fans and each other.
