Dead Freights Share New Single “How Much To Call Me Daddy?”
Lashes of punk swagger coupled with endearing indie charm, Dead Freights‘ latest release arrives with a poignant message. With an affinity for hi octane, adrenaline fuelled rock and roll alongside wry lyricism, the band explain: “‘How Much to Call Me Daddy’ takes you on a journey through the darker regions of masculinity and whilst again it exemplifies the sheer raw energy of the band, it also lays its moral compass on the table regarding questions of ‘toxic masculinity’.”
Signed to Gary Powell’s (The Libertines) new label 25 Hour Convenience Store Records, the band’s trajectory are very much on the rise, and their live shows are a testament to that, having toured the UK in 2022 with The Libertines, followed by a series of successive sold out London shows.
Gary Powell adds: “The Dead Freights are a unique beast, in that they have taken all of the ‘best bits’ that influence them musically and otherworld creatively, to produce a body of work that encapsulates whom they are as individuals and as a band. It is an absolute pleasure to not only sign them to my label 25 Hour Convenience Store because of the their creative brilliance but also to produce them – and there was no better backdrop for this than our own Albion Room Studios.”
The Dead Freights headline Strong Rooms in London on 15th November and support The View at Engine Rooms in Southampton England on 29th November, with the debut album due in January 2024.
