Crepes Debut New Single “Ain’t Horrible”
Led by the fanciful charm of Tim Karmouche (Hollow Everdaze), Crepes bring about breezy pop ditties through infectious, guitar-laden arrangements.
Debut single, ‘Ain’t Horrible’ recalls the effortless guitar-pop prowess of the Go-Betweens, whilst the languid allure of Dick Diver also shines through. It seems only appropriate that Melbourne’s own ‘dolewave’ deity in Mikey Young (Total Control, Eddy Current Suppression Ring) was recruited for mastering duties.
Though humble in its delivery, the single boasts a potent, pop-fuelled finesse beyond its lax guitar/drum interplay. ‘Ain’t Horrible’ revolves around a frustratingly catchy chorus that sees this tune live up to its namesake, and then some.
Ain’t Horrible is the first single taken from Crepes’ forthcoming debut EP, due for release in 2015.
