He plays the piano, he talks. He usually raps, often complains and, between moments of utter musical genius and grace, teaches the audience the joys of improvisation. The one and only Chilly Gonzales is back, with the announcement of a North American tour in April, and the promise of a new album, Solo Piano II, coming later this year on Arts & Crafts. Gonzales is also sharing a minimix he made for Annie Mac’s show on Radio 1, which you can snag here.

Chilly Gonzales has had quite a decade as an accomplished pianist, producer, MC, entertainer and more. He holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest live piano performance (27 hours, 3 minutes and 44 seconds), and has produced influential albums from Feist to Peaches, on top of countless collaborations, with folks as diverse as Andrew W.K., A-Trak, Jamie Lidell, La Roux and Drake.

In 2010, Gonzales co-wrote, starred in, and scored the hilarious feature film Ivory Tower, which co- starred Peaches, Feist and Tiga and with a soundtrack by Boys Noize. The film will be getting an official VOD release through iTunes in April to coincide with his North America tour. Chilly will also
be releasing his first live DVD, “The Unspeakable Chilly Gonzales live with Orchestra” in April. More
details on that coming soon!
