Califone Shares New Video For “Movie Music”
Califone recently released a string of videos: a voyeuristic apartment building tumble for “Frosted Tips,” a live 11-minute version of “Bells Break Arms,” “We are a Payphone” directed by Amber Benson (BtVS) and Angela Bettis, and now a haunting video for “Movie Music Kills a Kiss.” Directed by and featuring Angela Bettis and Rutili himself, “Movie Music Kills a Kiss” is a 96 frames per second, one take, one shot film describing the dreamlike love and destructive arc of a relationship between a man and a woman and possibly the aftermath of some unseen event. Rutili says, “Movie music can add or subtract emotional weight or fool you into thinking nothing is something and something is nothing. Movie music really can kill a kiss.”
Califone will tour North America for the next two months, first with The Luyas and then with William Tyler as support. A full set of dates is listed below.
