The past year has been a really rough time for almost everybody, because of the coronavirus pandemic which is still on-going. However, if you are a big fan of music, you’ve probably had plenty of songs and albums to keep you busy while you are in quarantine. But, if you are a Billie Eilish fan, you didn’t have a whole lot to listen to besides her previous songs from her discography.

However, fans of hers will not have to wait too much longer to get a taste of what the singer-songwriter is cooking up next. Just this morning, Eilish confirmed that her second studio album, titled Happier Than Ever, will be released on July 30th through Darkroom/Interscope Records, with the title track releasing this Thursday, April 29th.

The album announcement today was hinted at earlier this week when the singer posted a cryptic video to her social media platforms which seemed to feature a snippet from the aforementioned title track. Because the album is still a couple of months away from release yet, the details regarding the release are still quite scarce.

It’s probably safe to assume that Eilish’s long-time collaborator and brother Finneas O’Connell will once again return to produce and assist in writing all of the tracks. Another thing we are yet to learn is exactly how many songs will be featured on the album, and whether or not recent fan favorites “My Future” and “Therefore I Am” will be included is still a mystery.

Although the album cover, which showcases Eilish with her new blonde-hair look in a white dress, hints at a more light and joyous album than her last, from what we have heard, it sounds like the dark tones of Eilish’s music will be returning. Some may have wanted to hear a different side from her, but as for the majority of fans, they are just excited to hear some brand new music from the singer. It’s hard to blame them.
