Dora Jar recently dropped single “Behind the Curtain,” the track arrives ahead of her debut album No Was To Relax When You Are On Fire, available September 13 via Island Records. “Behind The Curtain” follows previous singles “Ragdoll”, “Timelapse”, and “She Loves Me.”

Dora shares, “I started ‘Behind The Curtain’ in Poland when I was living there in February 2023. The song is a big metaphor for the ‘Who am I?’ question. The ‘Behind The Curtain’ voice is taken from the machine my sister used to say things, the Vanguard, and it sounds similar to the one Stephen Hawking would use to communicate. The song also connects to this Wizard of Oz-theme in my life. The Wizard wants to project as this big, powerful man, but he’s just a scared little guy. That feels like the part of me that I hide behind the curtain.”

The artist was born in New York but raised in LA, she dropped her debut EP, Digital Meadow in 2021, followed by 2022’s comfortably in pain. Since 2022 the artist has released the singles “Bumblebee”, “Bump” and “Spell”, and joined Billie Eilish on her Happier Than Ever World Tour’ in the US, Australia, and New Zealand.
