“Beeswax Chamber” Shanghai Restoration Project
Shanghai Restoration Project have announced their forthcoming release Flashbacks in a Crystal Ball, ahead of the release, the New York City duo have shared the single “Beeswax Chamber.” Shanghai Restoration Project is comprised of Dave Laing, who worked as a producer and songwriter for Bad Boy Records, and multi-artist Sun Yunfan
After the first record the band partnered with China Record Corporation (the Chinese Government’s record label) to remix and remaster classic Chinese hits from the 1930’s and on further independent albums they released ‘Little Dragon Tales’ (a collection of Chinese children’s songs set to hip-hop beats) and ‘The Classics’ (a collection of 1930s and 1940s Shanghai jazz standards remade in an electronic format).
SRP’s first album under the duo’s moniker blended traditional Chinese instruments and hip-hop, whilst taking influence from the 1930’s Shanghai jazz scene. music feature in the Beijing Olympics as well as being used by Louis Vitton, Dior and more.
