Automatic has covered the Lou Reed classic, “New Sensations.” The track is accompanied by a video directed by Ambar Navarro (Weyes Blood, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Kate Bollinger). Automatic are hitting the road on July 16th, playing across North America with The Marías and finishing in Seattle Washington, at Bumbershoot Festival Pavement, Courtney Barnett, Kim Gordon and more. Automatic’s latest album Excess, is now available via Stones Throw.

Automatic’s version of “New Sensations” was originally on Light In the Attic’s compilation The Power of the Heart: A Tribute to Lou Reed, which includes covers by Keith Richards, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Rufus Wainwright, and more.

In the video, each member of the band channels their inner Lou Reed: practising Tai Chi, fielding reporters’ interviews, and riding a motorcycle. Automatic says: “Cosplaying as Lou Reed for this video was the lifetime dream we didn’t know we had. It just felt right.”
