Ahead of their North American tour which begins next week, Austra will be releasing remixes of their Olympia single ‘Painful Like’ from Manchester-based XXXY, Belgian techno producer Peter Van Hoesen, Dinamo Azari (one half of dance duo Azari & III) and Heidi Mortenson on September 3.

Influenced by early Chicago house music, where dance music was performed with a live band, ‘Painful Like’ too was performed live in the studio by Austra, free of any programming or loops. While the lyrics may deal with the disillusionment of growing up gay in a small town and finding solace in the arms of a lover, the track’s musical buoyancy reflects that Olympia is fundamentally a dance record.

After performing sold out release shows in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, the band begin their month long US tour this September which sees them finishing their tour at the Hollywood Bowl supporting The xx and Chromatics on September 29. Full list of dates below.
