Brooklyn artist Lefty Parker announces his signing to ATO Records, with the release of his new single, “Punish Me.” The track was produced by Rob Barbato (Kevin Morby, Cass McCombs). Parker will hit the road November 2026 for a tour supporting mary in the junkyard. Parker’s 2025 LP Ark, was produced and recorded by Buck Meek at his studio in Topanga. It features contributions from Meek, Adrianne Lenker, and James Krivchenia of Big Thief, with a live band of Meek, Adam Brisbane, Germaine Dunes, and Jesse Turley Quebberman.

“Punish Me” offers a first glimpse into his world as he works on his ATO debut, slated for 2027. Of the single, Lefty says, “‘Punish Me’ is a reflection on desire, and how it can be self-punishing. The song captures a tortured morning from my life, having just dreamt of a lost love, and wanting that comfort again. At its core, the song is about longing, a dream, and the pains that follow.”

When Lefty is off the road, he works as a substitute teacher within the NYC DOE. Lefty connects with his students through sharing his favorite music with them — often talking about bands like Neutral Milk Hotel, Townes Van Zandt, Okkervil River, and Leonard Cohen.

In 2016, Lefty attended a Devendra Banhart concert in Austin. Halfway through the show, Banhart, wanting to take a break, invited anyone who had never performed in front of an audience to come up and play a song, as long as it was an original. Lefty was picked out of the crowd to play Banhart’s Fender Jaguar in front of 1,500 people.

That night changed the course of Lefty’s life, and he’s been chasing that same feeling since then, touring dive bars, clubs, and halls across the US, Canada, and Europe, writing and performing alongside artists and friends including Buck Meek of Big Thief, Mat Davidson of Twain, Josh Marre of Blue Ranger, and Aaron Blount of Knife in the Water.
