Remi Wolf is back. Today, the singer released “Twiggy,” her first new music in two years, marking a highly anticipated return for one of pop’s most distinctive voices.

The track made its live debut last weekend during a surprise appearance at Hayley Williams‘ Newport Folk Festival set, offering fans an early taste of what Remi has been developing since her last album, Big Ideas. The single also arrives on 7″ vinyl, backed by a previously unheard b-side, “Tiny Little Twigs (Demo).”

Across Juno and Big Ideas, Remi built a sound entirely her own — full of vivid imagery, conversational lyrics, elastic melodies, and restless, joyful production. “Twiggy” delivers all of that signature charm while pulling the lens in closer. The song pairs one of her catchiest hooks yet with sharper, more direct songwriting, moving from playful wit into real vulnerability:

“Where you saw independence / I saw being reckless / You said let’s get breakfast / 40 miles to Texas / backwards in your Lexus / Fighting with your exes / You just miss me / I just miss you / We just missed our exit.”

Remi describes the song with characteristic candor: “I wrote ‘Twiggy’ about people I’ve been with that lack both butts and emotional availability. And how I like that. Or maybe it’s just about the messiness of addiction? Idk, you decide :).”

The track took shape after years of nonstop touring, when Remi slowed down and retreated to Big Bear with a small group of collaborators. There, she let herself lean into what she calls her “emo as f**k” side. “I felt this permission to be honest and be my raw self,” she says. “Because of that, the writing process didn’t change, but the writing changed.”

Remi has since become a defining artist of her generation, headlining festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza, touring with Paramore, Lorde, and Olivia Rodrigo, and recently making her acting debut in Amazon’s Off Campus.

With “Twiggy,” she’s just getting started again.
