Pons have released the video for their new single “City Slicker” via Casa Gogol (Eugene Hütz of Gogol Bordello label). The track was written while on tour throughout Europe and inspired by the trance-inducing music being played in German and French nightclubs. Says Pons: “These repetitive and dissociative instrumentals blurred the conventions of traditional song structure and gave way to something much more primal and physical that I wanted to tap into. The dance floor was the only thing on my mind. Equal parts Lodger-era Bowie and Georgio Moroder meets Sparks, I wanted to make dance music for the future while paying homage to the angular and idiosyncratic music of the 1970’s that shaped me. It’s dark, it’s dangerous, it’s paranoid, and it nightmarishly reflects the crushing weight and constant overstimulation of living in a place like New York City”.

The video for “City Slicker” was shot in Torremolinos, Spain after Pons’ completed their 2026 tour of Europe and the UK. The clip features Decrepit urban cityscapes and drug-induced paranoia take center stage as Jack contorts and fights their way through one of rock n’ roll’s most unlikely backdrops. A haven for sexual liberation and liberal drug policy in the 1950’s and 60’s, Torremolinos attracted frequent visits from the likes of John Lennon, Keith Richards, and Frank Sinatra and quickly became synonymous with hard partying queer culture. Now, relatively neglected, the half-brutalist, half-retro futuristic architecture is an endless supply of uncanny liminal space that feels like a Lynchian nightmare. Deeply influenced by Nicolas Cage films like Wild at Heart and Vampire’s Kiss, 70’s horror films like Andrzej Żuławski’s Possession, and the exotic backdrop of 10cc’s “Dreadlock Holiday” music video, Jack set out with Malaga-based artists Leve Adm and Ricardo León to make something with one foot in the 1970’s and one foot 100 years into the future.
