Slow Fiction recently shared “junior year” The Brooklyn band’s new single is the debut release for indie label Tight Knit. The track will definitely assuage the ears of fans of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. “Junior Year follows Slow Fiction’s 2024 EP Crush, available via So Young Records.

Later this month, Slow Ficion – Julia Vassallo, guitarists Paul Knepple and Joseph Skimmons, bassist Ryan Duffin, and drummer Akiva Henig will hit the road for a tour supporting Vundabar’s 10-year anniversary of Gawk, ending with a show at Brooklyn, NY’s Warsaw on June 19th.

Vassallo explains the song: “‘junior year’ looks at the perspectives of two types of people: the one who wants to commodify or sell, and the other who wants to rebel against that notion while feeling intensely stuck in this machine of objectification. We’ve all been made to feel small at one time or another, which just isn’t a very nice feeling. I’ve often had that ‘conversation hangover,’ where I spend loads of time afterwards, fantasizing over the perfect thing I could’ve said. I guess this was the easiest way to form a reply.”
