Gus Englehorn announces new album The Broken Balladeer

Gus Englehorn returns with his new album The Broken Balladeer, arriving February 27, 2026 via Mothland Records. The new LP sees Englehorn reuniting with Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers). Collaborators include Stuart Sullivan, Howie Weinberg, and Kramer. His early albums 2020’s Death & Transfiguration, 2022’s Dungeon Master, and 2025’s The Hornbook.
Alongside the announcement, Englehorn shares “Pepperina,” a strutting disco-punk storytelling romp and the first glimpse into the world of The Broken Balladeer. “I imagine a villain in a Western movie that has two lovers tied to chairs, and he’s singing the song to them,” says Gus. The album will be celebrated with a launch premiere presented by Mothland on March 5, 2026, at La Sotterenea in Montreal.
