The War On Drugs recentlty announce the return of A Drugcember To Remember, a series of holiday shows directly benefiting The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia, a nonprofit that raises and coordinates investments into the Philadelphia public schools. After a two year break, the 2025 Drugcember will consist of three intimate shows on December 18-20th at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia. Tickets go on sale Friday, November 21st at 10am EST, and will be available here.

Led by President and CEO Kathryn Epps, The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia (The Fund) is the official nonprofit arm of the School District of Philadelphia. The Fund is responsible for aligning philanthropic dollars with innovative, transformational, and equitable solutions that spur academic achievement for all children in Philadelphia’s public schools. The organization exists to harness community support for public education and eliminate the impact of underfunding as a barrier to student success.

The War On Drugs’ bandleader Adam Granduciel comments: “another Drugcember to remember! This has been a year end highlight for me since we started doing it in 2018. Three rock shows at our old local hangout benefitting the Philadelphia school system. This band wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the vibrant Philadelphia community that has supported us since the beginning and we are very grateful for it.”

For this Drugcember, additional fundraising will occur through the sale of exclusive Drugcember items provided by several local Philadelphia businesses including Elixr Coffee, Sacred Vice Brewing, Room Shop, Uncle Ron’s Candles, and Kinetic Skateboarding/Nocturnal Skate Shop.
