Jeff Tweedy will release his triple album, Twilight Override, on September 26th via dBpm Records. Ahead of the album’s arrival, the Wilco frontman has shared new single “Feel Free,” alongside a performance video directed by Lance Bangs. The freedom I’m talking about in this song comes in both small doses and large doses. It arrives at me, at the most free I feel in my life. Which is making a record with my friends and singing a song that I feel like is a part of the past, present and future. — Jeff Tweedy

In conjunction with the “Feel Free” release, Tweedy announces a fan-submitted lyrics project referencing the song’s closing line: “a song that never ends.” Pulling from listener submissions, he will record an extended version of the song to release at a later date on his Substack, Starship Casual. Fans can submit lyrics HERE.

Twilight Override was recorded and self-produced by Tweedy at his Chicago studio, The Loft, with engineering and mixing from Tom Schick, and also features Chicago-based friends and family: James Elkington, Sima Cunningham, Macie Stewart, Liam Kazar, and Tweedy’s children Spencer and Sammy.

Says Jeff Tweedy: “I’m not trying to imply that I had this all mapped out as a story,” he explains. “The way that this ended up falling together and being arranged—it does tell a story that I think I wanted to tell. That’s what a process does for me. This is why it sounded right to me in this order, aside from tempos and music.”
