Yeek releases “Leave With Me,” the third, and final, taste of his sophomore album Future Reference. Set to release August 25th, fans in Chicago got an early listen of a previously-unheard album cut when Yeek made a surprise appearance during Bakar’s Lollapalooza set where they played their new collaborative track “Care” off his new album live for the first time. Future Reference is Yeek’s first major release since 2021 and follows recently released singles “$$$$” and “ETA2″ featuring Paris Texas.

“Leave With Me” is a bouncy, and soulful end-of-summer jam. Instrumentally, the song is supported by drums reminiscent of UK house, a funky, gliding bass line, and beautiful synths that punch through the top of the song. The song centers on the feelings around an undefined but passionate relationship, as Yeek captures the fleeting feelings of joy with a perfect balance of dance, emotion and soul. Congruent with his already-released singles, Yeek’s roots in various musical communities inform the unfolding narrative of his album, and culminates in his love letter in Miami to the single’s accompanying visual, directed by Chris Cadaver.

Outlining the overarching theme of the three album singles and their visuals, Yeek says, “The ‘ETA2’ video, shot in LA, is an ode to my day jobs after moving out here, trying to make it happen while working two jobs to support myself. ‘$$$$’ was shot in New York, dedicated to my time sleeping on my creative director Chris Cadaver and K00pz’ (of Stray Rats) couch right after my debut album ‘Sebastian’ was released. At that point I was just beginning to enjoy the freedom of the lifestyle that comes with having a career as a musician.”

“Finally, ‘Leave With Me,’ is an ode to my relationship to Florida, shot in Naples,” Yeek says. “The wholesome, grounding nature of the beaches perfectly closes the loop on this story arc of all the places I’ve grown up and leads perfectly into ‘Future Reference’ as a whole.”

Future Reference is a simultaneously referential and forward-thinking body of work, drawing on both Yeek’s past experiences and his musical aspirations to capture every facet of him as a musician. Organically built to exist in-conversation with his past work, he also brings in a small, close collection of friends as collaborators, including the likes of Raveena, Bakar, Jordan Ware, and Erik Bodin of Little Dragon.
