deathcrash have shared “And Now I Am Lit.” The UK band’s latest single is off their forthcoming album Less, available March 17th via Fire Talk & untitled Records. Recorded at the UK’s most remote studio in the Outer Hebrides, Less follows their 2022 album, Return.

Having previously shared the melancholic and explosive single ‘Empty Heavy’ and ‘Duffy’s’, “And Now I Am Lit” is a more introspective but no less emotionally devastating instrumental that shows another side to the band’s quiet dynamism.

deathcrash on “And Now I Am Lit” – “This song is one of the earlier ones we came up with. In it is contained the ghost of our original thought process for the record. But then the drums and bass come in. It is the purest capturing of what we wanted instrumentally from ‘Less’ – just us four in a room together.”

“The mission statement was to be super minimal,” says deathcrash singer Tiernan Banks. “Just simple and beautiful guitar parts and to be really bare. To be….less.

Less was always planned to be a statement in reduction but it soon became apparent that the songs the band were writing were significant, personal and, despite the intentions to strip things back, sort of bigger. “As time went on, we started putting much more emotional weight into it and it became more important to us.”
