Local Natives have released a Danny L Harle remix of their recent single, “Just Before The Morning,” the track is now available via Loma Vista Recordings.

Harle – who’s worked with everyone from Caroline Polachek to Hudson Mohawke, Carly Rae Jepsen to Charli XCX – stretches Just Before The Morning out into a danceable number, creating futurepop gold from an ostensibly unlikely source. “Just Before The Morning” was recorded across Valentine Recording Studio, 64Sound and Sargent Recorders.

The band says of the song: “Just Before The Morning came from a burst of creativity after we finally reconnected in the studio. The song explores the cyclical nature of life and the many ways in which we begin again.”

In the span of one year, the band performed twice on Jimmy Kimmel Live! For their first performance, they were accompanied by Sharon Van Etten playing Lemon off the Sour Lemon EP. They closed out the year with a performance of Roxy Music’s More Than This from the Music From The Pen Gala 1983, an EP coinciding with their appearance in the Apple Original Series The Shrink Next Door starring Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell.

Based in Los Angeles, the group progressed their sound over the course of four full-length albums, Gorilla Manor [2009], Hummingbird [2013], Sunlit Youth [2016] and Violet Street [2019].
