Frankie & The Heartstrings share ‘Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)’ from limited 7″ RSD release
Following last year’s release of the band’s third album ‘Decency’, featuring their most successful singles yet in ‘Money’ and ‘Think Yourself Lucky’, Frankie & The Heartstrings have announced a special double A-side single featuring two Northern Soul classics.
Released on April 16th 2016, the single is comprised of a version of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons’ ‘The Night’ and their take on Frank Wilson’s ‘Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)’. Available digitally and as an exclusive limited edition 7” that will only be available to purchase via the band’s Sunderland-based Pop Recs store on Record Store Day 2016.
‘Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)’ is one particularly close to Frankie Francis’ heart, with him noting “I’ve seen first-hand what effect this track has over people. I regularly DJ, and there aren’t many tracks you can play and immediately know beforehand that everyone in the room will move to it, but this certainly is one. At the same time though, not many people will know the title of this song or who sang it. And that’s the power songs like Do I Love You has, it doesn’t matter what genre you champion, or what usually makes you dance, tracks like this are timeless moments of joy.”
Continues Ross Millard; “The two covers we’ve recorded here are loose, feel-good songs that should remind people of the backbone on which Frankie & The Heartstrings was founded – mystery, romance and a bit of late-night adventure.”
The band will also play a free instore at Pop Recs Ltd tomorrow evening (Saturday 16th April) as part of the Record Store Day celebrations.
