Yellow Days aka: George van den Broek will release his new album Rock And A Hard Place, on February 13 via Independent Co. The multi-artist’s LP is inspired by Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and Sly and the Family Stone. The 14-track album started off as a collection of songs he was stashing away at his home in Brick Lane, leading to a creative block from conflicting ideas. With a label deadline inching closer and closer, Yellow Days was able to concentrate on completion, bringing in Newcastle-based jazz fusion band Knats (Stan Woodward, King David-Ike Elechi and Ferg Kilsby) to bring his vision to life. Ahead of the album’s release, Yellow Days is giving fans an advanced taste with “Special Kind of Woman.” Rock And A Hard Place is the follow up to Yellow Days’ 2024 LP  Hotel Heaven.

“”Special Kind Of Woman” is an ode to my partner and newly-wed wife,” he says of the track. “The main objective is to capture the excitement of being by her side. The laughter and excitement of rolling together through life. Her unique humour, style & life experience means being with her is always special. Hopefully the song feels like the journey you go on with a truly special person by your side.”
