Yaya Bey has today released “on the pisces moon”, the reggae-inflected second single from her forthcoming Exodus the North Star, which drops on March 24th on Big Dada. The track follows Yaya Bey’s recent live performance with Roy Ayers and the release of the album’s title-track.

Exodus the North Star has been described as Bey’s most vulnerable work to date. Across six tracks which feature collaborations with Jay Daniel (“12 houses down”), Exaktly (“ascendent (mother fxcker)”, a track recorded at London’s infamous Abbey Road Studios) and Nativesun (“when saturn returns”) Bey draws us on an emotional rollercoaster that takes in elements of R&B, soul, jazz, reggae, afrobeat, hip-hop and house music, all underpinned by her intentionally hope-filed and ultimately joyful lyrics.

As well as the Roy Ayers event, Bey has also sold-out headline shows in London, New York and Los Angeles — playing alongside the likes of Perfume Genius, Grace Ives, Okay Kaya and others. She is also set to perform at Outside Lands, Dour Festival (BE), Love Supreme Jazz Festival (UK) and Treefort festival in Boise, ahead of announcing a run of UK/EU dates throughout 2023.
