Wyldest premieres ‘Wanders’ off debut EP

Listen to ‘Wanders’ here.

Wyldest have unveiled a third taste of their forthcoming debut EP Dark Matter, out Monday 21 March alongside a Parallel Lines headline show at London’s Servant Jazz Quarters.

Developed with producer Guy Massey (Palma Violets, Idlewild, The Coral) from an early online demo that first brought attention to the band, “Wanders” sees the North London trio – Zoe Mead (vocals, synth), Holly Mullineaux (guitar), Jack Gooderham (drums) – embrace their sparkling dream-pop roots.

The song is centred around its infectious, driving bass riff, which is married with Mead’s typically gorgeous vocal, twinkling synth work and brilliant, reverberating guitar lines from Mullineaux.

Of the track Mead states: “Wanders” is about loss, transience and memory. Themes that we all experience. Nothing lasts forever and everything should be enjoyed in the moment. It’s a song that can be interpreted in different ways and I hope everyone has their own personal experience with it.

The track follows Wyldest’s early outings which have enjoyed a plethora of support from the likes of Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, 6 Music, NME, DIY, Pigeons & Planes and more.

Wyldest headline London’s Servant Jazz Quarters on Monday 21 March – tickets and info here.

“Wanders” is the third track to appear from Wyldest’s debut EP, Dark Matter, released March 21 via independent London label Hand In Hive (Saltwater Sun, BOA).
