Witch Post has announced they have signed to Partisan Records for their next album, alongside the news, the band have shared new single and video for “Changeling.” The duo also recently released new reworked versions of Beast tracks, “The Wolf” and “Dreaming”.

“Changeling” is the first taste of the duo’s (Scottish musician Dylan Fraser and American musician Alaska Reid) follow up to this year’s ‘Beast’ EP and leans fully into their widescreen rock ambitions: big power chords, crashing drums, and an explosive chorus that feels ripped from a dream of ‘90s arena rock.

From Witch Post:

“We met a changeling that inspired this song. We didn’t realize it ’till a year later…

Once knew a changeling Julie was her name
Foxglove & roses painted tears on her face
I knew she was restless, I knew she had pain
Then she tried to consume me we were never the same”

Alaska and Dylan met by chance online, both having separate careers as musicians at different ends of the industry (serendipitously they soon discovered that they are from towns of the same name, one in Scotland, one in Montana). It’s an idiosyncratic pairing that aims to challenge traditional ideas of what a rock band looks and sounds like. They write songs that honour the wolffish qualities of Scottish rock n’ roll & the driving openness of American music. The name Witch Post comes from 17th century carvings in rural England that were crafted to ward off witches. Alaska and Dylan have adopted the name in honour of the witch.
