William Tyler drops his new album Time Indefinite, out April 25th via Psychic Hotline. Today, he releases the single “Anima Hotel.” the track follows singles “Cabin Six,” “Concern,” and “Star of Hope.” “Anima Hotel” is a supple love song taking inspiration from Carl Yung, highlighting the spiritual and philosophical approach on Time Indefinite.

In Tyler’s words, “Carl Jung used the term anima to refer to the unconscious divine feminine within the man. So often in romantic love we are seeking both the magical other and if anything, the mirror to align with the different parts of our psyche that we project. I imagine this as kind of like a love song I wrote to different people, all of us having to stay at one of those middle-of-nowhere airport motels awaiting a flight to be rescheduled.”

After crucial stints in Silver Jews and Lambchop, this adopted son of Nashville emerged at the dawn of the last decade with a string of albums that paired the measure of his country rearing and classical enthusiasm, combined with his post-modern experimentation.
