“When The Summer Ends” Savoir Adore

Directed by Daniel Inskeep and Rachel Gulotta of Mango Street Lab, the video was shot in and around Los Angeles, from pool party hangs to desert drives. Paul Hammer, 1/2 of Savoir Adore, says, “Daniel and Rachel had a treatment that perfectly reflected the bittersweet nature of the song. The video follows Lauren [Zettler] through all the changes of a summer – the highs and lows, all the people that fly in and out, and what’s left at the end – a feeling I think everyone can relate too. For us, it perfectly matches those fleeting emotions of summer, and the passing of time. Added plus, we got to drive around in a vintage mustang!”

Savoir Adore will release their next album in two parts. The first installment, First Bloom – which features “When The Summer Ends” and the previously released “Slow Motion” – comes October 19th. To celebrate, the band will play a series of special First Bloom shows in select cities this fall. Adds Paul, “We wanted to curate a special series of shows in connection with this release that will only happen once, both musically and visually.” These will be their only U.S. shows for the rest of 2018.

“Savoir Adore” is French for “to know love” – a lofty moniker, but an idea that’s always been at the heart of the band’s romantic, imaginative pop music. The Brooklyn band first caught ears with “Dreamers” from sophomore album Our Nature. In 2016, the band went through an evolution that saw primary songwriter/vocalist Paul Hammer welcome Lauren Zettler as his permanent female counterpart. They released the critically acclaimed The Love That Remains — their most mature, honest, and ambitious album to date — and spent the better part of the year playing a slew of headline shows and supporting X Ambassadors and Bear Hands throughout North and South America.
