Westerman has released new single “Spring"

Westerman has released new single “Spring,” the track is off the artist’s forthcoming album, A Jackal’s Wedding, available November 7th via Partisan Records. The accompanying video was filmed at the Bageion Hotel in Athens, Greece.

Written during a tour across America, “Spring” came together in Utah while Westerman was reflecting on a recently ended relationship. It explores the tension between emotional self-protection and the hope of reconnection, capturing a deeply personal reckoning with vulnerability and effort. Westerman’s voice feels especially close here, soft but clear, as if he’s letting you sit in the room with him while the realization unfolds in real time. A gently devastating chord progression grounds the track.

A Jackal’s Wedding was, during a period when Westerman moved from London to Greece, his home for several years before a recent move to Milan. To create the album, Westerman and producer Marta Salogni (Björk, The xx, Sampha) holed up at the Old Carpet Factory, a ramshackle, yet beautiful 17th century mansion converted into an arts space and studio on the Greek Island of Hydra. They embraced the chaotic space fully, arriving equipped with only a drum machine, and relying on the studio’s extensive backline to craft the album’s array of synth sounds.
