VETIVER shares the new video for “Current Carry” taken from the album Complete Strangers, announces UK / EU tour dates including London in November. The band is wrapping up a US tour now opening for Wilco.

Filmed in Northern California by Alex Kopps, this new video for ‘Current Carry’ is themed around the endless summer where all you have to worry about is driving down coastal roads on the back of a moped, burning driftwood on the surf and lighting sparklers and getting drunk on the beach.

Vetiver is the long-standing moniker of San Francisco-based artist Andy Cabic, may be synonymous with the early-to-mid 00’s freak-folk boom, due to his collaborations with the likes of Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom and tours with Vashti Bunyan and Fleet Foxes, his latest record Complete Strangers is a far removed, stylistically evolved piece of work that in no uncertain terms puts that overused term to bed. The album was produced by long-time producer/collaborator Thom Monahan). There are moments of refined, plaintive, folk – as you of course have come to expect – but just as frequently are explorations into Yacht Rock, 1970’s AOR, Balearic disco and West Coast soft-pop-rock. “The songs on Complete Strangers bear some resemblance to the album’s title. They share things in common but come from different places, different times” states Cabic.
