A first release is always filled with nerves and excitement. It’s the start of a story. This particular start is one which is intensely personal. The first verse of the song is literally based on a conversation I heard a friend having in 2018, she was talking about her cat and simultaneously exploring the nuances of romance. It stuck with me. Sonically, I’ve tried to dive into allowing emotion to tear through the fabric of strict form and any boundaries that I may have adhered to in my previous work. I wanted to feel the story in every moment. Hopefully that translates to the listening experience.
