Los Angeles’s Tennis System has announced the Part Time Punks Session, a new, five-song EP on PaperCup Music, available November 19. In conjunction, the band has premiered a first single off the record, “The Summer After”. Taylor teamed up with local LA DJ/music promoter Michael Stock, founder of the famed “Park Time Punks” showcase, and producer, Drew Fisher (The Melvins/Bleached/Babies), to record five new songs in a single take, at the city’s legendary Bedrock Studios, capturing the furious urgency and raw energy.
Tennis System was initially formed in Taylor’s native DC, steeped in Fugazi, Bad Brains, Black Tambourine and Velocity Girl, before heading out west in 2010, releasing the Teenagers album in 2011, and quickly becoming one of the cities best live acts, supporting Wavves, Ty Segall, Japandroids, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Beach Fossills, Mark Gardner, and playing Filter’s Culture Collide Festival in 2012. The band returned in July with a new single, “Such A Drag” b/w “Technicolour Blind”.
