Thus Love Share “Centerfield” Video
Captured Tracks’ recording artists Thus Love, have shared their “Centerfield,” along with a video directed by Augie Voss and Benni Shumlin. Centerfield is the follow up to group’s recent single “Put On Dog,” which was released in January. Thus Love dropped their current full-length Memorial in October 2022. From the band’s inception, Echo Mars (she/her), Lu Racine (he/him) and Nathaniel van Osdol (they/them) have lived together under the same roof, designed and produced their own merch, and even created their own recording studio from scratch.
Speaking about the new single, THUS LOVE say:
“In the age of advertisement and the internet, attention is a resource being stolen and memory feels at risk of extinction. This video is a time stamp of determination and incubation of what was, is, and shall be. This song is for the dreamers who hold onto mystery, who embrace the reality of that which we are now bred to forget.
The trio has announced new UK shows for this August, with a London date at the legendary 100 Club and further gigs in Bristol, Leeds, Manchester and Coventry. In addition to a recently announced sold out London gig at The Windmill on March 4th., Thus Love will also play a handful of shows with 4AD artists Dry Cleaning.
THUS LOVE traces its beginnings to Mars’ and Racine’s serendipitous meeting at a local print shop in 2018, when the multi-instrumentalists agreed to collaborate on a new musical project. THUS LOVE’s lineup clicked into place when Mars and Racine were finally able to convince van Osdol to join on bass in 2019. The band was just starting to regularly headline renowned local venue The Stone Church when everything came to a sudden and screeching halt. Rather than idly wait, the band decided to take their future in their own hands. Armed with nothing but YouTube videos and her innate curiosity, Mars constructed a makeshift studio in their rented apartment above downtown Brattleboro.
