The Orwells have announced a two-night hometown event they are calling the Midwest Shitfest. It will take place in Chicago at the Chop Shop on Friday, August 12th and Saturday August 13th and will feature performances by The Orwells and friends The Symposium, Post Animal, and Joe Bordenero and The Late Bloomers. Fans can expect to hear new songs from The Orwells, as a preview of a new album which will see tracks released in the fall.

2014’s Disgraceland (Canvasback Music) definitely helped put The Orwells on the map. They delivered one of the most memorable late night TV performances on The Late Show with David Letterman, were featured in an Apple commercial, and, most importantly, toured relentlessly, connecting with fans all over the world. The Orwells will release new music this year, with a new album coming in early 2017. Recorded in Chicago at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio Studios, the album was produced by Jim Abbiss, who produced 2 songs on Disgraceland, as well as albums by Arctic Monkeys and Adele.
