We had a great time chatting with James McGovern from The Murder Capital, the artist talked the records that have inspired him and the band. Their new album Blindness, is now available.

The Murder Capital’s Blindness is described as a vividly realised, clear-sighted ambitious new album from The Murder Capital. A record that’s both momentous and charged with momentum. That’s full of geography – of the mind, and of a Dublin-formed band whose members are now scattered around Ireland, London and Europe – yet bristles with the intense energy of an album finely wrought in three pacy weeks in the studio in Los Angeles. Blindness finds the band re-energised after previous years of heavy touring, recording the album in LA with the Grammy-award winning producer John Congleton.

The Irish band’s profile has been on the rise since their 2019 debut and 2023’s acclaimed Gigi’s Recovery. For fans of fellow countrymen Fontaines DC, plus IDLES, Protomartyr, Squid- The Murder Capital just wrapped up a tour with their hero Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds in Europe
