The Mary Onettes, release the new single, “Without This Body,” from their from their forthcoming album, SWORN, available November 14th via Welfare Sounds & Records. The track follows Follows previous singles June’s “Eyes Open” and “Hurricane Heart.” The band includes Philip Ekström, Petter Agurén, Simon Fransson, and Henrik Ekström.

Following the release of Islands (2009), Hit the Waves (2013), and the Portico EP (2014), the band entered a quieter phase. The members focused on family life and creative pursuits outside of the group. Lead singer and songwriter Ekström found success composing film scores, including Endings, Beginnings, 2020) and releasing music under his solo project H.Moon.

Despite not performing live since 2017, The Mary Onettes remained a cult favorite. In 2022, they reached a new audience when their track “Cry For Love” (from Islands) was featured in the Japanese Netflix sensation First Love—a cultural phenomenon that reignited interest in the band, particularly in Asia. Streams surged and new fans discovered the depth of their back catalogue.
