The M Machine announces “Just Like”

The M Machine announces and share title-track from their EP

San Francisco’s The M Machine have been hard at work since the release of “Superflat” earlier this year, and closing the book on their conceptual releases Metropolis parts I and II. Now they return with the Just Like EP, to be released on November 11th on Skrillex’s OWSLA. Just Like marks a new chapter for The M Machine, leaving behind the thumping electro that powered their previous releases for an upbeat house approach that still feels as much home in the club as it does a dark warehouse after-hours party. The title track kicks things off with distinctive bassline and percussion, complemented by a high-pitched narrator that begs “I want you to dance with me.” “Don’t Speak” comes at us with a bubbling synth while “Over/Love” gives us a taste of downtempo pop that would fit perfectly on a John Hughes soundtrack. “PluckPluck” and “So Change” close out the EP with rhythmic basslines and a west-coast house feel that further showcases the group’s prowess and mastery of electronic music and help bring in a new era of The M Machine.
