“The Glow” by matt pond PA

matt pond PA recently premiered his new video for “The Glow”. The clip, arrives shortly after the announcement of their new full-length album, Winter Lives, which will comes out November 11th, along with a short tour of the northeast in December to support. matt pond PA, kick of their fall tour on December 3rd in Kingston NY.

Of the video’s inspiration, Matt Pond stated, “There are moments in my short history that shove pointlessness and cynicism to the side – short, sweet, honest moments that essentially make life worth living. With “The Glow”, we wanted to highlight the abandon of what it means to wildly run through the woods, to see snow in the summertime, to get lost sunlight. And it was downright amazing to work with a bunch of kids that were both kind and cool. There are so many ways of seeing things, of perceiving ourselves, of moving forward. And yet, simple truths are completely clear: even though life and the larger world can be genuinely troubling at times, I am forever indebted to my mom for giving me this consciousness.”

It makes sense, too, that matt pond PA’s latest release is a bold celebration of what blooms in the coldest, stillest time of the year. With Winter Lives, he gets to the point: This isn’t about labels and contracts. It’s about the music. It makes the clear and fully independent statement: It’s about connection.
