“The Break” Σtella

Greek electronic/pop artist Σtella shares new video for title track “The Break” in advance of her new album The Break out January 24th on Montreal based label Arbutus Records (Tops, Doldrums, Sean Nicolas Savage). Prior to the release of “The Break” video, Σtella shared album tracks ” Monster ,” which she describes as “locking the monster or loving the monster inside? I was never sure.” As well as a video for lead track “Forest,” which was shot north of Athens, Greece at Parnitha Mountain, Park of Souls and the ancient Greek Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounion. The remaining shots took place at Stella’s studio in Athens, where she experimented with different objects, layers and lights. Σtella explains “Forest” is about transformation.

“Breaks create miracles and have the power to change the world’s course.” Σtella continues about the video, “I found this location one day before the shoot and my good friend Chris was moving to Berlin on the next day. So everything happened really fast, – it had to – I loved the location which is on the south part of Athens (very close to where I grew up actually), an area by the sea called Glyfada.”

Based in Greece, Σtella began writing music while still a student at the Athens School of Fine Art, and first released songs into the wild of the Internet in 2012. Soon in demand as a guest writer and vocalist for an impressive cross section of the Greek underground scene, she also flexed her melodic muscle on more personal collaborative projects, such as Fever Kids and a series of acclaimed tracks with Nteibint .

Happiest on stage with her band, Σtella has has opened for Chinawoman, Busy P, Breakbot, Metronomy, and appeared at SXSW Music Festival, ESNS – Eurosonic Noorderslag, Iceland Airwaves, Reeperbahn. and more.
