The Montreal duo The Barr Brothers return today with “Run Right Into It,” the second single off their upcoming album, Let It Hiss, out October 17 via Secret City Records. The new single features vocals from Land of Talk‘s Elizabeth Powell, and it speaks of constant change and renewal.

“‘Run Right Into It’ is the musical equivalent of a ‘74 Camaro in a high speed police chase barrelling towards the Great Wall of China,” commented brothers Andrew and Brad. “It’s the release that comes after smashing into the thing we’re running away from, or towards, and finding the expansive open road beyond. It is lyrical and audio propulsion.” The three vocalists are “locked together like pistons,” they continued. “The feel is immediate, the guitar riff is hypnotic and it’s one of the most drivable songs since Golden Earring’s ‘Radar Love’.”

“Run Right Into It” is accompanied by a visualizer created and directed by artist Brigitte Henry (Brad Barr’s wife). It features the silohuettes of Brad and Powell against a backdrop of the open road. Matthew Waring captured the images of Barr and Powell.

Let It Hiss is the duo’s first collaboration in eight years, as both brothers spent their hiatus developing their individual musical careers. Now working side by side again, the brothers aim to emphasize teamwork and companionship. Aside from Powell, several notable guests are featured on this record: Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Patrick Watson, and Klo Pelgag.
