The Chicago quartet will release their new EP, joy is no knocking nation, via Angel Tapes/Fire Talk. Ahead of the album’s arrival, the band have shared the single and video, “that’s it/that? that’s all you can say?” ira glass will celebrate the EP’s release with a free EP release show at The Empty Bottle in Chicago on November 18th. joy is no knocking nation is the follow-up to their 2024 debut compound turbulence flexing for the heat.

The recording sessions, saw ira glass return to work with Brooks Hannon, who engineered their debut at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio Studios. Together, Hannon and ira glass recorded joy is no knocking nation straight to tape across multiple sessions at Chicago’s Jamdek Studios and West Town Magnetics.
