Temples have released a Franz Ferdinand remix of new single “Certainty,” which is taken from their upcoming sophomore album, Volcano released March 3rd 2017 on Fat Possum.
Premiered yesterday via Billboard, the remix plays off the already dreamlike elements of the song, but adds a purposeful dance beat and handclap that transforms the song into something entirely new. The remix of “Certainty” strips back the psych rock elements and layers pulsing synth loops and solid bass groove to create a truly reimagined take on the new single.
Temples Frontman James Bagshaw on the “Certainty” Remix:
“When someone is remixing a song you have a certain idea of how you think it will sound, but Franz Ferdinand have really turned the track on its head, arrangement and even genre! I don’t think any of us expected such an electronic reimagined version of the song! It’s wonderful.”
Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos said “There were so many dimensions to this song when we first heard it. We chose one and explored it until it took us out into a completely different one.”
Temples are currently on the road in support of their forthcoming album, Volcano.
