“Take The Night” Krief

Patrick Krief AKA: Krief, has shared his new single “Take The Night.” The track, is the second single of his forthcoming release, Dovetale, out on June 7 via Indica Records.

From Krief;

“Take The Night” is a song that helped me get through some harsh moments in my life. It’s a cathartic, fantasy piece about betrayal and the denial that often comes with it. “Take The Night .

People of duplicitous nature can only do harm when welcomed into your life. “Take The Night” is about becoming witness to evil and fighting back instead of allowing it to consume you. Produced mostly from the comforts of my own apartment, I replaced the drum machine that I used on the demos with live drums and spent weeks practicing.”

Having been a co-writer and guitarist with Montreal “orchestral pop noir” band the Dears for nearly a decade, Krief’s “solo” career has evolved from side-project band (Black Diamond Bay) to more of a one-man effort with a succession of guests to a truly solo endeavour — Krief plays all the instruments on Dovetale. Recorded and mixed between Krief’s home studio and Mixart in Montreal, the album echoes dream pop and shoegaze as well as the classic pop, rock and folk that have always been Krief’s songwriting foundation.
