Montreal band, Stars have announced a headlining North American tour this April supporting their new album There Is No Love In Fluorescent Light. Beginning on April 12th in New Brunswick, Canada, and including three East Coast dates, the tour then heads south to Boston, MA’s Royale on April 16th and Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club on April 23rd, ending April 24th at Atlanta, GA’s Royale. Ticket pre-sale via www.youarestars.com will be available tomorrow, on Friday, January 26th with a general on-sale Saturday, January 27th at 12 PM EST. A current tour itinerary is below.

Recorded in Montreal and Connecticut with producer Peter Katis (The National, Japandroids, Jonsi), There Is No Love In Fluorescent Light marks the first time the band shared creative control with someone outside the group. Lyrically, it veers into a world inhabited by characters that have lived inside Stars songs for almost twenty years: a place where people do desperate things in the name of love, a place where the cruelty and coldness of the technological world we live in often smashes up against the frailties of the human heart.
