A year that included the release of their Carpark Records LP Twerp Verse, Speedy Ortiz has had a productive one. extensive tours including headline dates and support tours with the likes of Liz Phair, The Breeders, Against Me!, as well as an opening slot at Fenway Park with The Foo Fighters. Along with all that, front person Sadie Dupuis released her first full-length collection of poetry entitled Mouthguard this Fall. Today, Speedy Ortiz shares a new music video, the clip is an animated, claymation portrayal of “I’m Blessed.”

“I was given an incredible amount of freedom and trust when making the music video for ‘I’m Blessed.’ The song already had so much creative imagery and Sadie, herself, was a great inspiration,” explains “I hope viewers are able to appreciate the idea that we have the ability to summon different aspects of ourselves and we have the power to use those traits to save us from our own snakes and coyotes.”

The history of Speedy Ortiz began with front person Sadie Dupuis just released a full-length collection of poetry entitled Mouthguard, out now on Gramma Press. Dupuis started writing these poems in 2011, the same autumn she tossed a few home-recorded solo demos onto Bandcamp and called them “Speedy Ortiz.”
