Special Interest’s Endure Remixed, features six remixes off their 2022 album Endure, the album is out today on Rough Trade Records along with a video for Marie Davidson’s remix of Endure single “LA Blues”. Directed by Special Interest singer Alli Logout and conceived with Marie Davidson, Logout says of the video, “We came up with the idea of a dramatic road film because we’re constantly traveling. Marie loved the song and we chatted about everyone mistakenly thinking the abbreviation LA was for Los Angeles when it was for Louisiana. We thought it would be funny to play with this idea of leaving Louisiana for the remix. The original song itself is so descriptive that we could never make a video for it, but the remix is like the aftermath of the Louisiana chapter closing. In the original version, you hear a door close as the last sound, so this remix starts with a new door opening.”

Endure Remixed contains remixes of Endure favorites by artists such as Machine Girl and Marie Davidson – and in a nod to their New Orleans roots, a bounce remix of their single ‘Midnight Legend’.

Special Interest began as part of the New Orleans’ inventive DIY scene, Special Interest finds a new way of defining the “rock band,” a true collective unit rather than the dictated vision of a single member. Their sound is ever-fluid and continues to evolve — Special Interest actually began as the duo of Alli Logout and Maria Elena with guitar, drum machine, and a power drill, before Nathan Cassiani and Ruth Mascelli filled out its current line-up.
