Montreal’s Solids – Xavier Germain-Poitras (guitar) and Louis Guillemette (drums) – announce a North American tour beginning in September in the band’s home province of Quebec and spanning into the U.S. through October and November. Solids will support The Flatliners and Single Mothers on a string of East Coast shows before heading into the U.S. This run is advanced by two Quebec shows this week, one on August 9 in Bethanie, QC with Suuns and a performance at the Heavy MTL After Party onAugust 10 in Montreal as support to Fucked Up. It has been an almost unstoppable run for the duo. Their debut album Blame Confusion was released on February 18 via Dine Alone Records and it was long-listed for this year’s Polaris Music Prize.

With a nod to 90’s influences like, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr and Superchunk, Solids sublimate their melodies through a wash of distortion and feedback. Blame Confusion was recorded by Adrian Popovich at Mountain City Studio (We Are Wolves, Sam Roberts, The Dears).“ All newly confirmed tour dates are noted below, Canadian stops are bolded.
