Deep Thrills, an LA-based electronic producer and DJ, recently released his debut EP, How Deep Is Your Thrill? on Friday, July 18 via Hyperclash Records. Today he shares the official music video for “Sofa,” a short, witty, and house-inspired dance track. The accompanying video was directed and choregraphed by Dheera Johnson, who also stars.

Deep Thrills is the new electronic project of Mattan Koplin-Green, who’s also behind the alt pop band, Paper Idol. Inspired by electronic classics like Justice, Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, Soulwax, and more, KG has almost a vintage quality to his production—bringing back the sounds of French Touch, nu-disco, electroclash, and house. He began releasing tracks under the new name in 2024, also uploading club remixes of popular pop songs to his SoundCloud. Deep Thrills gained a strong following earlier this year with the release of “Truth Before Dare,” a slight parody of LCD Soundsystem’s “Losing My Edge” that also pokes fun of the return of interest in electroclash through the popularity of The Dare.
